Aveiro, known as the "Venice of Portugal", is a charming city famous for its canals that are one of the city's biggest attractions, and a ride on a moliceiro — a traditional boat used in the region — is a unique way to explore the city. It also stands out for its Art Nouveau architecture, visible in the historic center, and for the Aveiro Museum, which houses important art collections.

The city is also famous for its beaches. Praia da Barra and Praia da Costa Nova, with their brightly coloured striped houses, are perfect places to relax by the sea or stroll along the sea. The view over the Barra Lighthouse, the highest in Portugal, is also one of the main attractions of the region.

Finally, Aveiro's sweets are something that cannot be missed on your visit. The famous ovos moles, traditional sweets made from egg yolks and sugar, are a real delight and an excellent souvenir to take home.
